Shearling Care

Shearling Care

Storage.  Use a wide shaped rounded hanger in wood or plastic away from direct heat or sunlight.  Always store your shearling in a breathable garment bag.

Care When Wet.  If your shearling becomes wet due to exposure to rain or snow blot dry your shearling with a damp towel and allow it to dry naturally away from any direct heat.   Once your shearling is dry, use a suede brush on the suede side and a gentle steel comb on the hair side.  Spray with a suede/leather protector like Tana 16 All Protector.

Professional Dry Cleaning Recommended.  Be sure to have your shearling cleaned only a professional leather cleaner. Professional leather cleaners use products that contain special cleaners and oils to clean and condition.  It is important to have your shearling cleaned regularly as solvents and salt can accumulate and can damage your garment if left for an extended amount of time.
